Somali Public Workers Union is an organization whose membership consists of workers and union leaders, united to protect and promote their common interests.
The principal purposes of a labor union are to:

1. negotiate wages and working condition terms,
2. regulate relations between workers (its members) and the employer.
3. take collective action to enforce the terms of collective bargaining.
4. raise new demands on behalf of its members, and
5. Help settle their grievances.
Somali Public Workers Union is an organization union that represents interests of public workers Union and have connection and relations with government institutions.
This workers union was created to work the welfare of Somali workers in large especially to seek their rights and prevent all violations against them. It particularly does something the care of working women rights in the terms of pregnant and lactating period.
Somali Public Workers Union is a proactive, transparent and
accountable organization, the workers union of choice in Somalia, a
leader in labor relations, influencing development through national,
regional and international policy-making in partnership with the
relevant stakeholders and pursuing excellence in its endeavours.

The mission of the Somali Public Workers Union is to promote and
protect the social and economic well-being of workers by defending
their rights and interest.
The main objectives are:
- To look for the rights of the workers violated their rights
- To represent for the Somali as workers union in the regional
and international meetings and conferences - To advocate the rights of the workers especially public.
- To seek support the Somali workers perturbed such as
elevation of their knowledge and other issues faced them and
need to be done something. - To participate the reconstruction of Somali country which was
demolished by the civil wars
